During my visit to Asheville, NC, I couldn’t help but notice this awesome new coffeehouse and cafe in downtown Asheville. It is The Green Sage and just opened up at the beginning of March. It is on the corner of Broadway and College Street.
It is owned by Al Kirshner and Randy Talley which offers a breakfast and lunch menu and features fair-trade, organic teas, coffees and even chocolate syrup. To make the The Green Sage even more spectacular, they offer a recycling center to sort your garbage and encourage the patrons to bring their own mugs. When I first saw this building, I saw the beautiful solar panels on the roof. They use these panels to heat their water. They are even working on lineup for local music!

This awesome new coffee shop is trying to set a new example in environmentally friendly businesses while trying to educate the public. I cannot commend this coffeehouse enough for their practices to help the environment. This is what we need to start seeing everywhere! I really wish they had one of these in my town!
I couldn’t find a website for The Green Sage. If anyone knows the address and has any reviews of The Green Sage, post it here in the comments! I would love to hear them!

Hi, Up date on the Green sage. New local owners……
Thank You For Your Kind Words On The Green Sage. Please come see us when your back in town!!
Lisa
Are you one of the owners? Was it just recently changed?
Hi, Yes! But the people who work for us are the true owners. They make it work.
Thanks,Lisa
Lisa! Thanks for stopping by my site! You have a wonderful restaurant there! and the people are definitely great there! I wish we had something in my city just like the Green Sage. I’m always in Asheville overnighting on trips but we stay out by the airport…and unfortunately no transportation to get downtown…If there was, I would be there every time I am in Asheville. Tell everyone there to keep up the great work!
Hi John, and LIsa…. I’m friend’s with one of the owners. Her name is Fin Becker. She’s the best. I think the Geen Sage Cafe will do a great business.
