I arrived to an extremely long line in Fort Lauderdale, Florida at the Galleria Mall at 6:50am. I was told--thankfully--while in line that because I'm on a family plan, I would have to go to an AT&T store for my iPhone. Apple stores were not being permitted to handle special cases like that...dude said something of that nature. I wonder what happened to the poor guy in the video that he'd be rejected. Family plan? They had to retry 5 times before the order would go through, and even then there were problems, and Apple gave me a $100 in-store gift certificate. But the whole experience was terrible. 10 hours, Jobs allowed the experience they so avidly protect to be utterly destroyed. And they also rely so heavily on evangalism of those first day buyers, apple's most committed customers, but every one I've talked to walked away from the whole experience completely upset at the whole deal.
